The Discover Volunteering Talks are taking place on 13, 20, and 27 October.
What are the Discover Volunteering Talks?
As part of the Volunteering Service's series of specialised panel talks, we are bringing you the opportunity to listen and learn from key charities across London and explore what it's like to volunteer in the fields of Tutoring and Mentoring; Health; and Heritage. You will also get the chance to ask questions and network with the charities!
Bring your lunch and join us in the discovery!
Discover: Tutoring & Mentoring
One of our most popular areas of volunteering is Tutoring & Mentoring. We work with lots of charities that support young people to overcome barriers to their education, and they’re all on the lookout for keen volunteers. Options include after-school clubs, mentoring, one-to-one tuition, educational workshops and online projects. You’ve got to university – could you help a young person do the same?
The time: 13 October, 1-2 pm
If you’d like to make an impact on the health sector, this is the event for you. Health volunteering includes projects in hospitals, health promotion and education, active lifestyles, mental health, and wellbeing. Come along and find out more.
The time: 20 October, 1-2 pm

Discover: Culture & Heritage
London is famous for its museums and its heritage organisations. At this event you’ll find out about roles as exhibition guides, event helpers or museum education volunteers, and about opportunities to get involved behind the scenes, as well as opportunities focusing on different cultures, including arts.
The time: 27 October, 1-2 pm
